Gratitude

I have been working on a chapter in my new book about gratitude and have been writing about the consequences of ingratitude and the benefits of gratitude.

Have you ever gone out of your way to do something for someone who neglects to thank you? So much relationship strife is due to people feeling unacknowledged, unappreciated, unimportant, and taken for granted.

When you make up your mind to be grateful, what you are doing is making a point to be more present, to notice what is going on around you and pay attention to the people in your life. That is why gratitude has such power. It causes you to be present—with people and with your life.
