The Power of Receiving Events Information

What a wonderful month already this has been. I recently returned from California where I gave a couple of presentations and book signings in Mountain View at East West Bookstore and in Mill Valley at The Depot Bookstore and Cafe. The audiences had terrific questions. I love talking about receiving and am always amazed that this topic is so unfamiliar to so many of us — and so much fun to discuss.

I received the MP3 audio of Scott Cluthe’s interview with me. I was a guest on his show ‘Positively Incorrect’ on April 28th. He re-ran  it right after an interview with Lisa Oz. I feel very honored to be on the same program with her! You can access my interview through Scott Cluthe’s site  Positively Incorrect  (the first half of the show is with Lisa Oz and the second half is with me. Or you can click on this link to listen to my interview: Amanda Owen Interview_on_Positively Incorrect

Coming up soon on May 23rd and 24th, I will be a guest on two radio shows that are devoted to Caregivers. On May 23rd I will be interviewed on The Caregiver Hour from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm EDT. You can listen live on the radio on 1250 AM WHNZ Impact Radio in Tampa or on the internet. For details go to The Caregiver Hour

On May 24th I will be interviewed on Your Caregiving Journey at 3 PM Eastern, 2 PM Central and Noon Pacific. Denise Brown is the host of  The Caregiving Book Club. She interviews authors on Your Caregiving Journey, a BlogTalk Radio show. ‘The Power of Receiving’ was the May book club choice and we will be discussing receiving and caregiving.

And finally, I want to make sure you all know that I have created a site dedicated to two upcoming Power of Receiving Retreats.

Welcome to the Weekend Getaway You’ve Been Waiting For …
Manifest Your Dreams by Learning How to Receive Them

The first is in the idyllic village of Grafton, Vermont and is sponsored by The Women’s Health Resource Center of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.  The second retreat is sponsored by the The Sedona Rouge Hotel in Sedona, Arizona.

Both venues have come up with great prices for an amazing weekend where we will all focus on our dreams and goals and I will be leading you through the exercises that help you to manifest them. This is a wonderful chance to work within an intimate gathering where you will receive plenty of personal attention. I hope to see you there! Here is the site where you will receive all of the information: The Power of Receiving Retreats

A Power of Receiving Retreat in Sedona

Recently I headed up to Sedona, one of the most beautiful places on earth, to stay at Sedona Rouge, a wonderful boutique hotel. Ever since my book, The Power of Receiving, was published last December, I have been thinking about creating a Receive Retreat in Sedona and this was my first trip to explore the possibilities.

I was introduced to Sedona Rouge through Victoria Oldham, a friend from high school. We found each other just like a lot of people do these days — through Facebook. It turned out that Vickie and her husband have a website and newsletter Gateway to Sedona that provides everything you would ever want to know about Sedona, including all of the current events. When I mentioned to her that I was looking for a hotel in Sedona where I could schedule a Receive Retreat, she said, “You have to meet Ed Conway, the manager of Sedona Rouge.”

Ed and the Spa Director Greg Retegan could not have been more welcoming. They booked a luxurious king-size bed red rocks view room for me. This is what I could see from my balcony.

While I was in Sedona, I drove up Airport Road to catch the sunset.

The next morning I visited one of my favorite places in Sedona, a church is built into the red rocks, called the Chapel of the Holy Cross . This is a view from inside the chapel. I am not a very religious person, but if ever there was a place to become religious, this would be it.

When I want to relax, replenish, renew, and reflect in some place other than my home, Sedona is always the first place that comes to my mind.  As I continue to explore possibilities for a Receive Retreat, I will keep you posted about my plans.
